Fudge-y, citrus-y, chocolate-y deliciousness – what more could you ask for from a chocolate orange brownie!?
Chocolate Orange Brownies

- 60g melted butter/melted coconut oil or neutral oil of choice
- 175g melted dark chocolate
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Juice from 2 oranges
- Zest from 3 oranges
- 200ml milk [dairy or dairy-free]
- 210g plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 40g cacao powder
- 1 tsp espresso powder [optional]
- 80g light brown sugar or coconut sugar
- 75g dark chocolate chip/chunks
Instructions
[1] Preheat the oven to 180ºc and line a rectangle baking tin with parchment paper
[2] In one bowl, combine the melted butter or oil, 125g of the melted dark chocolate, vanilla extract, orange juice, zest from 2 of the oranges, and milk
[3] In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cacao powder, espresso powder, if using, and the sugar
[4] Add the dry ingredients into the wet and combine before folding through the dark chocolate chunks
[5] Pour the mixture into the lined baking tray and flatten into the corners. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes
[6] Allow to cool completely before slicing and drizzling with the leftover 50g of melted chocolate [which may need re-melting] and zest from the 3rd orange.
