Halloumi friesPrint This
- 400g halloumi cheese
- 1 tbsp of plain flour
- 1/2 tsp of oregano
- 1/2 tsp of paprika
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 2 tbsp tahini
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 1 tbsp of pomegranate seeds
- Mint leaves
Begin by cutting the halloumi into fingers.
In a bowl combine the flour, oregano, and paprika. Gently add the halloumi fries to the flour mixture and ensure they are completely covered.
Heat a small deep saucepan on a medium heat and add enough vegetable oil so the oil is deep enough to cover the fries. If the pan is small you won’t need much oil.
Once it’s hot and you can see some bubbles place the fries into the pan [however many you can fit without overcrowding as this will change the temperature of the oil] and cook for roughly 45 seconds until golden brown, then turn over to cook the other side. Take care as the oil will be very hot!
Place the fries on some kitchen roll to remove any excess oil and then transfer to a plate.
Combine the tahini with lemon juice and drizzle over the fries. Top with pomegranate seeds and mint leaves to serve Enjoy!
