Halloumi fries
Print ThisIngredients
- 400g halloumi cheese
- 1 tbsp of plain flour
- 1/2 tsp of oregano
- 1/2 tsp of paprika
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 2 tbsp tahini
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 1 tbsp of pomegranate seeds
- Mint leaves
Instructions
[1] Begin by cutting the halloumi into fingers.
[2] In a bowl combine the flour, oregano, and paprika. Gently add the halloumi fries to the flour mixture and ensure they are completely covered.
[3] Heat a small deep saucepan on a medium heat and add enough vegetable oil so the oil is deep enough to cover the fries. If the pan is small you won’t need much oil.
[4] Once it’s hot and you can see some bubbles place the fries into the pan [however many you can fit without overcrowding as this will change the temperature of the oil] and cook for roughly 45 seconds until golden brown, then turn over to cook the other side. Take care as the oil will be very hot!
[5] Place the fries on some kitchen roll to remove any excess oil and then transfer to a plate.
[6] Combine the tahini with lemon juice and drizzle over the fries. Top with pomegranate seeds and mint leaves to serve Enjoy!
