What’s that saying?
A smoothie a day keeps the doctor away…?
A smoothie a day keeps the heatwave at bay…?
Ok, so neither of those are true but a smoothie is a pretty delicious thing to get in some of your fruits and/or veggies and keep you cool during a heatwave.
And so we’re sharing the smoothies series. 4 smoothies. 4 different moods. 4 different colours. 1 goal – to taste delicious.
Up this week – the banana and flax POWER UP! It’s thick, it’s creamy, and it’s super satisfying. You can enjoy it for a quick breakfast on the go (adding some smoothie oats if you want to make it a little more substantial) or as a snack after a workout. It also tastes like a banana milkshake so perfect for kids, teens, adults and everyone in between!

Banana and flax POWER UP smoothie
Print ThisIngredients
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 tbsp of nut butter (peanut or almond work really well)
- 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
- 200ml of (any) milk
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- A drizzle of honey or maple syrup (optional)
- A sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
Add everything to a blender and blitz until smooth.
If you like your smoothies extra cold you can add some ice, but you may need extra liquid as the ice can thicken it quite a bit!
