The Food Medic food range in partnership with PAUL.
Last summer I was contacted by Maxime, CEO of PAUL and the fifth generation of this family business of bread enthusiasts, about this exciting opportunity. I was both humbled and excited to hear Maxime was interested in combining our skills and collaborating on a product range in response to their customers’ growing interest in more sustainable and flexitarian eating options. Some of the core values of my own brand, The Food Medic, is to make healthy eating more accessible, sustainable and, of course, enjoyable, and so this partnership seemed like the perfect opportunity (and challenge!) for me to take on.
The process of dreaming up, and developing these recipes with the team at PAUL, has been exciting and challenging, with many experiments and unexpected obstacles along the way. The final collection of items have been tried and tested and I can’t wait for the customers at PAUL, and my followers, to come in and try it for themselves.
One of the reasons I am very proud to partner with PAUL is because it is five generations of a family run business who pride themselves on top quality, freshly baked food. They know good food and recognised the need to respond to their customers evolving needs for grab-and-go food that is not only delicious, but also nutrient dense, sustainable, and plant-focused. Grab-and-go food is often disappointing, and that’s something we wanted to change so that people feel more excited for, and more satisfied with, breakfast and lunch (and everything in between) on the trot.
On a more personal note, I have spent many summers driving through France with my family and I remember so clearly how we would stop off at PAUL on the autoroute to pick up warm pastries and baguettes for our onward journey. It’s an honour to partner with such a well-established, family run brand like PAUL.
PAUL were trusting enough (and brave enough!) to allow me to take lead on the recipes and move the goal posts slightly, when it came to the recipes we created for this special range. In the collection we have food to take you right through the day including breakfast pots, sweet and savoury open sandwiches, salads, sandwiches and rolls. Our aim with this range was to create nutritious, tasty and plant-focused meals together and I really hope you will agree that we have absolutely achieved that!
