In amidst all the sweet recipes we’ve been sharing here on The Food Medic website, we thought we’d share something a little more savoury. Enter….vegan sausage rolls! Simple, delicious, unfussy and perfect for pretty much anytime of day. Cut them into bite-size pieces and enjoy as little canapés or keep the full size and serve it as a centre-piece for the lunch table. Dips are optional but a pretty tasty addition!

- 1 roll of vegan puff pastry
- 6 vegan sausages
- 30ml plant milk alternative
- 15ml maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180c and line 3 baking trays with baking paper.
Roll out the puff pastry on a flat surface with the longest sides laying horizontally.
Using a knife cut the pastry into three by making two vertical lines.
If the sausages have a skin on them, remove the skin and place two sausages vertically on each piece of pastry.
Combine the milk, maple syrup and salt in a small bowl and brush the pastry with the mixture.
Now fold both sides of the pastry up and over the sausages and seal together.
Carefully turn the three rolls over and using a knife score lines 2cm apart down the rolls.
Next cut the rolls up into your preferred size (however large or small you’d like).
Place them on the baking trays, brush them again with the milk mixture and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake in the oven for 22-24 minutes until golden brown and crispy on top.
Serve with your dips of choice.
