What’s the biggest obstacle that stops you from working out? for me, it’s time, but also convenience, or lack of. I need a gym which is close to work and home, so I can squeeze it in before work or after, or when I’m running about between meetings.
Unfortunately, not many of us have the budget to afford several gym memberships to cater for such luxury but there may be a way to get around this. I’ve partnered up with Move GB who have developed the Every Activity Membership giving you access to over 1000s venues including gyms, yoga studios, dance classes, climbing centres and so much more. The concept was developed to help remove the barriers that prevent people from staying active, allowing you to get moving whenever, wherever with no restriction and no barriers. I’m all about making health and fitness more accessible so I think this concept is brilliant!
They have large gym chains available on the membership such as Pure Gym and Virgin Active, which makes it easy to squeeze in a workout at any time, in any place. I checked into a Pure Gym during one of my days of meetings in the city when I had an hour spare and blasted out a quick workout. On the weekends I drop into my nearest Virgin Active and make the most of their spacious gyms.
Not only has this membership allowed me to dip into my nearest gym whilst I’m out and about, but it has also encouraged me to try out new activities which are out of the scope of my usual training and push me outside of my comfort zone. One class, in particular, I was keen to try was barre so I signed up to The Louisa Drake Method class which is a hybrid class of barre, bodyweight, and resistance training, means you not only work on strength but balance, posture, and endurance also. I thought it would be a piece of cake when I saw that all we would be using were a set of baby dumbbells and a stability ball but boy was I mistaken, I think I worked every single muscle in my body in one session – even the teeny weeny ones that I barely used before!
To find out more about the MoveGB membership and to find out if it is available in your city, head over to their website. They have lots of different membership options so you can sign up for as little or as much as you like, ultimately the larger the membership the more venues are unlocked but a membership of as little as £26.99 per week in London unlocks 853 venues to use anytime, as many times as you wish.
MoveGB have offered all of my readers a 2 week free trial, os if you fancy giving it a go, sign up here!
