Our immune system is the Holy Grail of health, and especially during the change of season, when most people suffer from colds and flu, it is important to strengthen our immune system. So apart from enough sleep, an all-round healthy diet, it also helps to add more warming and immune boosting ingredients to our daily rituals such as this golden recipe by Wunder Workshop.
Warm Autumnal BoostPrint This
- 250ml oat milk (homemade or shop brought
- 1 tsp Golden Turmeric Honey (Wunder Workshop’s contains turmeric, coconut oil, raw honey and black pepper – all organic)
- ¼ tsp of cayenne pepper
- 1 small fresh beetroot
- 3 cm piece of ginger
Juice the beetroot and ginger, and add the juice and cayenne pepper to a mug.
In the meantime heat the oat milk, until almost boiling.
Add the hot oat milk to the mug and blend the mixture well with one teaspoon of Golden Turmeric Honey.
IMMUNE BOOSTING INGREDIENTS: Turmeric, Raw Honey, Coconut Oil, Ginger, Cayenne Pepper // BEETROOT JUICE: Beetroot is a good source of iron and folate (naturally occurring folic acid). It also contains nitrates, betaine, magnesium and other antioxidants (notably betacyanin). Please note turmeric is a delicious spice which you can add to warm drinks and curries but despite its use as a natural remedy in ancient practices, particularly Ayurvedic medicine, more research is needed to determine exactly how turmeric may be beneficial. So I can't back it as a magical elixir just yet - but it the results are interesting, and of course, it still tastes delicious and very warming in winter!
