I’ve always worn Reebok as a child, as a teenager, and now as an adult, so the fit felt right from the start.
I also really admire the messaging behind the Reebok AW17 campaign and I feel like it resonates with mine. They’ve brought together six women to form ‘The Reebok Girl Squad’. We are all very down to earth girls with a passion for fitness, but we all have very different talents and interests, styles of training, and personal style.
As a group we want to encourage and inspire all women to be active and become the best and strongest version of themselves. I guess we want to show we want to show the healthy comes in all shapes and sizes, and that fitness doesn’t require one form of exercise or sacrificing your life to simply working out.
I work as a full time doctor, and I also run my own blog and business, The Food Medic, so I understand how hard it can be to stay on top of your fitness when you have a busy life! I want to be a role model for women out there who juggle a demanding job (or two jobs!) but do what they can to stay fit and eat well.
How does it feel to be in a group of some of the country’s leading health and fitness influencers for the new Reebok campaign?
I am totally honoured!! These girls are so incredibly inspiring and motivating to be around. I think its really cool how we all share a similar passion for health and fitness but all move in very different ways. Cat is an incredible yogi, and pulls some amazing shapes that I could only ever dream of getting into!
Tashi is the runner of our squad, and inspires me to lace up and get out on the road. Carly is big into CrossFit and has super strong body to show for it. Roz is my fellow Irish lass who can swing a punch better than most guys I know and Ashleigh is basically one of those girls who is just good at everything – CrossFit, gymnastics, running, you name it! Where do I fit? I guess I’m the small but mighty one of the group, and when I’m not running around the hospital on my day job, I’m usually at the gym lifting some heavy weights!

What does Reebok’s ‘Be More Human’ philosophy mean to me?
For me it’s not just about building a strong, healthy body, but about building resilience, developing focus and mental clarity. Exercising to build muscle or lose weight is great if your goal is purely physical, but pushing through a hard workout does a lot more than strengthen your body – it strengthens your mind.
Every session isn’t about absolutely destroying yourself, but when you take yourself out of your comfort zone and have to dig deep to stand up to new challenges – that is when your truly become a stronger person.
To celebrate the launch of the Reebok #GirlSquad we hosted a special pop-up event at the Ministry of Sound with Be:FIT. The money raised from the tickets was donated to the Red cross, supporting those affected by the Manchester and London Bridge attacks.
